How we do it

As of May 2018, Signal is a registered charity (Charitable Incorporated Organisation), number 1178463.

You can find our registration on the Charity Commission website here, but our charitable aim is, ‘to advance public education, appreciation and understanding of the arts, particularly the art of theatre in all its aspects, by the production and presentation of public theatrical performances.’
We’re run by trustees Kellie Batchelor, Robert Wolstenholme and Katie McCorkindale, with trustees-elect Paul Cavanagh (stage name Paul Callahan) and Emma Fitzgerald.
Our financial affairs are looked after by the brilliant David Wootton and, for ethical reasons, we bank with the Co-operative Bank.

Because all our trustees are volunteers, we have no running costs or overheads. At the same time, we receive no regular funding, so instead, we raise (and spend) money on a project by project basis.

If you’re interested in helping us fund our next (or a future) production, please do get in touch
